NDF (National Doctoral Fellowship Scheme)
TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement Program)
Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Fellowship (instituted by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Govt. of India) to strengthen research profile.
Ph. D. program of the institute is as per the SRTMU Nanded guidelines. Admission to QIP, NDF, Vishwashrayya Ph. D. fellowship is given as per the directives of the sponsoring agencies like AICTE/DST and University approval for the same. A student having valid GATE score/qualification in PhD eligibility test(PET) is admitted for Ph.D. program.
Institution provides seed money to its teachers to the tune 1 lakh per year per teacher. Teachers are encouraged to undertake international fellowships for advanced studies. We have very good infrastructure in the form of Central Instrumentation Centre, Central Fabrication Facility, Media Laboratory. In TEQIP II we established a Centre of Excellence in Image and Signal Processing in our Institute. Various research databases are available for students and teachers through institute library. Technical journals are available online in the campus for all students (at hostels and others places on WiFi).
The faculty has attracted good amount of funding through various industries and research funding agencies such as AICTE, DST, BARC, Govt. of Maharashtra and India. There are 7 research centres in the institute. Fifty percent of regular teachers in the institute are research supervisors. Almost all regular teachers are working on one or more research projects. The institution has developed a vey good innovation ecosystem and in ATAL ranking we were in the first 100 institutes in the country in the year 2019.
Students and teachers are made aware of intellectual property rights by conducting workshops and seminars. Our teachers and students have received innovation awards at the state and national level. We encourage start ups in the institute campus by providing them right infrastructure and guidance. We encourage patent publication. Our students and teachers publish in good technical journals regularly. Many teachers have published book chapters in last five years. We encourage our teachers for consultancy and have an elaborate consultancy policy. Good amount of revenue is generated through consultancy.
We are encouraging startups in Institute through incubation centre. We have signed MOUs with various industries and research organizations for active involvement in the field work. We have developed technologies to harness solar energy for processing haldi and sugarcane into value added products. A wheel chair equipped with proper technology for helping disabled is developed in the institute.
The technology developed in the institute is displayed for local and regional population for awareness through exhibitions. In the year 2019 a state level project exhibition was held in the institute campus (DIPEX 2019) in which 210 projects from across Maharashtra were showcased. Around 20000 visitors were made aware of technologies developed by students. Many industrial leaders visited and appreciated the effort. Every year in Pragya, we organize project competitions for graduate and undergraduates students in engineering institutes across state.
The neighborhood area of our institute is benefited by extension activities of the students and teachers. A strong presence of NSS (National Social Service) unit is in campus. We have sent our students for Social Internships this year as per AICTE guidelines at Anandvan (Varora), Vadepuri (Pani foundation), Science College Nanded and many other places.
Our institute has linkages with institutes of national and international importance through MOUs. We send our Ph. D. students to work on joint research projects abroad regularly. Our students go to industries to work on their dissertations.
