Social Internship policy
First year students are encouraged to participate in any of the social activities during summer/winter. Social activities include understanding the problems in the society, creating awareness on issues of importance to common man like water scarcity, health related etc. It is expected that students can earn extra credits (one credit if they spend minimum one week 40 hours in any of the social organization, NGO, etc and multiples therein. Maximum 2 credits). We are in touch with at least 50 NGOs working on various societal issues and problems. Students are encouraged to select the NGO from their place of residence so that they can enjoy stay at home and work on social internship.
This year students have participated in the works of Pani Foundation (Wadepuri village near Nanded – approx 120 students), Parbhani City (Awareness of Water scarcity and survey – 15 students), Anandwan (Baba Amte’s Shram Sanskar Chavani- 120 students) and other NGOs. Credit award is based on the recommendation of the committee formed for the purpose and report submitted along with presentation of students.
This will create awareness about the societal problems and issues and during the tenure of their 3 years after this they can propose solutions to these problems in the form of their academic projects till final year. This will inculcate the habit of indigenous product developments for Indian problems.
